MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – August 11, 2014 5:10 PM

Linda Guyette, Chair of the Tolland Cultural Council requested authorization from the Board of Selectmen to appoint members to the board that are not Tolland residents. Linda contacted the Local Massachusetts Cultural Council (MCC) for guidance. Eric stated that an article may have been voted on at town meeting with Cultural Council town guidelines. The Town Clerk will have to look into seeing if such an article was voted on. Eric also asked Linda to solicit members through the Tattler.
Phil Grannan had some concerns with the Special Town Meeting that was held on Monday, July 28th. He felt that the article was confusion and that the town could have done a better job with their presentation. Eric informed Phil that the Selectboard will be speaking with Whitney later in the meeting to discuss the property further.
Whitney Bonadies agreed to sell a smaller parcel of property to the town for assessed value. The Board of Selectmen will be scheduling a hearing and another Special Town Meeting to address the property purchase.
